International Involvement
The Rotary Club of Eagan enjoys a unique view of the world through our involvement with international visitors and projects. One of the best ways to deliver the message of international friendship and understanding is to “wrap it up in a person.”
In past years, our club has hosted inbound high school exchange students, most recently from the countries of Sweden, Bosnia, Poland, Brazil, Slovakia and Germany. Students live with three host families during the year and attend classes in Eagan. Rotarians become an extended family for the students, inviting them to share in a multitude of activities. During the 2002-2003 school year, the Club also sponsored an outbound student to Chile.
The Rotary Club of Eagan frequently hosts international visitors, including Group Study Exchange (GSE) teams from Australia, Jordan and the Philippines. Each GSE team from abroad spends a month touring Minnesota and the USA in a cultural and vocational exchange. During their time in Eagan, the GSE team members stay with Rotary hosts and are treated to all the community has to offer.
All Rotarians are united in a global campaign to eradicate polio. The contributions made by our club are used to provide vaccines and health care workers to administer them.
